Week in Review Week 19 (January 27-31) - Inukshuks

Hi Everyone,

Social

This week our focus of the Arctic shifted to Inukshuks. We learned that Inukshuks are a way that Inuit people communicated with each other. We learned about six different Inukshuks and their different meanings and symbolism. We had the opportunity to draw and build our favorite Inukshuk that we were connected to. We built our Inukshuks out of rocks and added them to our Arctic documentation panels.

Math

This week we started working on subtraction. We focused on understanding our place value and using base ten blocks to represent our subtraction problems.

ELA

We are working on retelling stories through different ways. We have used a mind map to re-tell our stories we have read. Our next way of retelling our stories was through comic strips. We drew pictures to sequence our stories and had a fun time doing so!

Gym

We have been doing gymnastics, and last week Mr. Hartman had set up Mission Impossible. We had so much fun going through the different obstacles.

That is all for now. Report cards have come out, hopefully you have been able to access them. If you have any questions or need it printed out please let me know!

Thanks

Mr. N
